Singapore men's team are through to the quarter finals stage in the LIEBHERR 2012 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Dortmund. They beat Belarus 3-1 in yesterday's round 16 match.

Vladimir Samsonov vs Pang Xue Jie 3-0 (11-2, 11-3, 11-6)
Evgueni Chtchetinine vs Gao Ning 1-3 (5-11, 11-6, 5-11, 11-9, 11-3)
Pavel Platonov vs Yang Zi 1-3 (11-9, 11-6, 9-11, 15-13)
Vladimir Samsonov vs Gao Ning 0-3 (11-8, 11-8, 13-11).

I believe this is their first time they have qualified for the quarters. They will face Japan next.

The Singapore Women's team topped their group & they received a round 16 bye so will play Germany in the quarter finals later today.

What's that Chinese word? I hope it's not ’jia you’ . You'd get a red card if you said that! "Illegal advice" laugh

Yes this Chinese word '加油' has miss interpret as an 'illegal advice' and a red card is sent to Wang YueKu during women team event.

Although spore win Chinese Taipei by 3-0 but it is not a easy game for Wang when she is 2 sets down during the 2nd team match.
During her game, serve foul is also 'rewarded' n all these have 'add oil' (加油) to the later part of the day.

Assume referee don't know other language but only English ,then what if '加油' can use then how about '压反' in Japanese during the next meeting with the jap!

Dream over for men's team. They lost 3-1 to Japan.
I'm surprised Gao Ning lost 3-0 to Koki Niwa!
Although they failed to progress further the team has done well. Best

The women's team are through to the semi finals after snatching victory from the jaws of defeat to secure victory over Germany. Well done!
Next opponent, Korea.

Koki got nose bleed at the crucial moment disrupted Gao's momentum : (

Another nail biting match! The women's team win again (3-2) & book their place in the final against either China or Hong Kong (should be China).
