Renol,

This is a Team Event. So if you are interested, the first criteria is go to your nearest CC and look for the person in charge and indicate your interest :) And like what mm599 said, many many other conditions.. lol

dryvuu,

I'm also interested to participate... had submited my name but not sure whether that team wants me ... lol

The former is easily fulfilled but not the latter. Why is it the team needs to have 1 'non-HDB player'?
Also you need 2 women players! 1 is difficult enough! 2 women players?! Another headache! laugh

You've done your part so just hope & pray they select you! Best
If too many interested players may be you have to undergo selection session or something?

I feel they should have followed last year's format. Players are free to represent the CC provided they live in the GRC.
May be the new rules & regulations are introduced to reduce the number of participation teams. Last year there were probably more than 30 teams!

You need 2 women players due to the format of play

Women' Single and Mixed Double as NO repetition of player for each tie.

as NON-HDB hmmmm no comments!

Yes that is correct & I understand that. I was just saying it was difficult to get 1 let alone 2 women players in the same GRC.

Rule 2.2 wrote:Participants are allowed to represent only one Cluster and they must reside in that Cluster. The validity of the participant’s residential eligibility is at the point of registration. Please refer to Annex of the General Rules and Regulations for the listing of Clusters.

Ok I heard a lot of people said that you must 'reside in the GRC in order to represent that GRC'. However the rule above stated cluster not GRC. I'm not sure if GRC is the same as cluster.
Yes? No?

You need to call and check which cluster you are in. Usually Cluster go by GRC. For SMC, usually they join other SMCs or GRC to form a cluster..

Got to know about this after checking with PA. I've written the number somewhere, will post the number if I can still find it...

This will only tell you which GRC or SMC you are in, but it is not obvious your SMC belongs to which cluster...

You can contact 6238 2058 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, excluding public holidays) or pa_community_games@pa.gov.sg to check which cluster you are in!

Go to the last page of the link:
http://www.pacsc.org.sg/images/MungoBlobs/CG2012Rules/cgsng2012generalrulesregnregulations.pdf

The 15 clusters are published.

E.g. Yuhua is SMC but grouped under Jurong.

True the link provided in the rules & regulation to check the Cluster's boundaries isn't clear enough but as long as you know your GRC & your division (for eg. Tampines Central) you'll get the rough idea. Still not good enough though.

Anyway thanks to all who provided info on this matter. Best

Well I've just read this on the S'pore National Games website.

If there are two or less teams competing in each Cluster in any of the seven sports, the team(s) will proceed directly to the Singapore National Games.

So if every cluster has 2 teams then all will 'bypass' the Community Games & play in the S'pore National Games! laugh

Does anyone know the logic behind the age restrictions stipulated in the Community Games rules .... masters - max 4 players must be above 50 , below 35 yrs max is 5 players etc .... ?
Every team that is fielded in the first 8 must have at least 1 from Non HDB and 1 from HDB .... ???

What if the Team dun have .... does that mean the Team will concede a walkover for that game ?
How are we to know if the opposite player is a Non HDB dweller etc ?
i suppose when we report at the counter , we should verify the players' 'status' before commencement....... confused ...
